I have a bosch 1617 router combo kit one motor a fixed and plunge base the problem i have is that the motor unit gets stuck in the plunge base and it is a real struggle to remove it.

Bosch router stuck in base. Powerful 15 amp motor produces 10000 to 25000 rpm and 23 horsepower. It fits in okey like nice and snug and then i cant get it out. Bosch 1617 issue selfwoodworking.

Trigger control system trigger power switch located in handle for enhanced control. The bosch is now slated to go in a router table and i have a different plunge router. My router is a bosch that has the plunge base and fixed base in a kit.

But mounted upside down in the table the weight of the unit would occasionally pull the bit continuously down through the base during use shrinking the amount of bit protruding onto the tabletop. There is an allen screw on the back that tightens down to help hold the motor to the base but it doesnt seem to matter whether thats loose or tight. It has been tight from the beginning but it is getting so difficult to remove now that i am reluctant to even use the plunge base.

Yesterday i was in my shop and was routing a 58 roundover on a piece of walnut and after routing the first side i turned the router off set it aside flipped the board and went to rout the other side and the router would not work. In my case the router was tight and did not move after locked when pushed in the direction that exposes more bit plunged more. It got to the point where i had to mallet off the plunge base after it got stuck on the router.

Once i have the base set in one of the three detents on the motor the motor can slide freely up and down within a range of about an inch. My porter cable router model 6902vs gets stuck in my plunge base model 6931. I have a bosch 1617 and had the same problem with the plunge base.

Im having a problem with the height adjustment on my table mounted bosch 1617.
